Bank Lending Institute (BLI)

The Bank Lending Institute™ (BLI) is a two-year banking program that provides practical bank management and leadership strategies necessary for successful community bank lending. The community banking focused curriculum is overseen by bankers, industry consultants, regulators and other experts in the financial services field. It offers strategic insight into both the present and future of banking technology, best practices, administrative processes and project management. Hosted at the AT&T Conference Center on the University of Texas Campus, BLI puts an emphasis on real-life skills and approaches required for effective and profitable bank lending management.

Texas Tech School of Banking

Leaders in the financial services industry encounter an ever-changing environment that requires a comprehensive skill set. The SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) is the financial services industry's best source for education, training and information – designed specifically for bank officers. It is considered by many to be the nation's top educational source for commercial and consumer lenders, loan and operations officers, bank regulators, as well as marketing and management professionals.

 

Date: May 30-June 10, 2016

The SWGSB Millennium Scholarship

 

Every year, the SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) Foundation offers a banker who is an IBAT member a $1,000 scholarship to the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The “SWGSB Millennium Scholarship” is applied toward the new student’s first-year tuition for the School of Banking.

 

The freshman scholarship must be used for the 2016 SW Graduate School of Banking, which will take place May 30-June 9, 2016. The scholarship application is available here, and the submission deadline is March 31, 2016. Please send applications to IBAT, ATTN: Mary Lange, at mlange@ibat.org. The scholarship recipient will be notified by April 15, 2016.

The Community Bankers School (CBS)

The Community Bankers School (CBS), formerly The Midwest School for Community Bankers, provides broad exposure to important elements of community banking. It gives students the most up-to-date thinking on core principles of community banking: compliance, operations, consumer credit, documentation, asset/liability management, marketing, management principles, and much, much more. Plus, it gives attendees a vast range of specific banking skills and techniques that can contribute immediately to their banks' overall success.

San Houston State University E.M.B.A. in Banking and Financial Institutions

The Executive Master of Business Administration (E.M.B.A.) in Banking and Financial Institutions program at Sam Houston State University is designed to develop and enhance a candidate’s skills that are necessary for a position of leadership in a financial institution or regulatory agency. The program emphasizes the integration and synthesis of various disciplines to develop a student’s ability to function and make sound administrative decisions in a dynamic financial institution environment. The E.M.B.A. program is suited for qualified students from any academic discipline who have experience in the financial institutions field.
 
The E.M.B.A. is a two-year cohort program with a new cohort beginning each fall semester. It is an online program with an annual two-week residency requirement prior to the start of each fall semester.
