Bank Operations Institute (BOI)

The Bank Operations Institute (BOI) leads the field in preparing community bankers for banking in the 21st Century. Guided by the industry’s top regulators and educators, BOI builds its program around moving operations officers from the back room to the boardroom. Here the emphasis is on practical, real-world issues and solutions. BOI takes students through the nuts and bolts of operations to a new level of strategic thinking and presentation.

This is a two year program that provides the practical management and leadership techniques necessary for successful community bank operations. The dynamic curriculum is monitored by regulators and bankers and offers strategic insight into both the present and future of banking technology, processes, and project management.

Students from a multi-state area attend BOI for one week each fall for two years. The program is taught by noted regulators, bankers, educators, and professionals with an emphasis on the practical skills needed for effective and profi table operational management.

The Texas Tech School of Banking is designed to provide future leaders in the financial services industry with the skills, tools and perspective necessary to advance their careers and help their banks prosper. The curriculum is designed and faculty selected to enable program participants to understand the big picture of the rapidly changing financial services industry. Program graduates are equipped to anticipate and manage a rapidly increasing rate of change. They have up-to-date knowledge of all major areas of banking, a fresh network of colleagues, and a strong start on the life-long learning necessary for successful banking careers.

Sam Houston State Executive MBA Program

The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Banking and Financial Institutions program at Sam Houston State University is designed to develop and enhance a candidate’s skills that are necessary for a position of leadership in a financial institution or regulatory agency. The program emphasizes the integration and synthesis of various disciplines to develop a student’s ability to function and make sound administrative decisions in a dynamic financial institution environment. The EMBA program is suited for qualified students from any academic discipline who have experience in the financial institutions field.

The EMBA is a two-year cohort program with a new cohort beginning each fall semester. It is an on-line program with an annual two-week residency requirement prior to the start of each fall semester. During the residency period, students receive foundational instruction for the six courses to be completed during the upcoming academic year. Up to six hours of coursework may be transferred into the EMBA program from the Southern Methodist University Graduate School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Community Bankers School - Bloomington, IL

The Community Bankers School (CBS), formerly The Midwest School for Community Bankers, provides broad exposure to important elements of community banking. It gives students the most up-to-date thinking on core principles of community banking: compliance, operations, consumer credit, documentation, asset/liability management, marketing, management principles, and much, much more. Plus, it gives attendees a vast range of specific banking skills and techniques that can contribute immediately to their banks' overall success.
