In a ceremony on April 25, Robert A. Hulsey (American National Bank of Texas), Walter Johnson (Amegy Bank), Kenneth T. Murphy (First Financial Bank, N.A.) and the late Walter G. Lacy, Jr. (Citizens National Bank, Waco) were inducted to the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame at Sam Houston State University.  

Former Harris County Commissioner Sylvia Garcia won a special election runoff in Senate District 6 (Houston) on Saturday.  This election was necessary due to the death of Senator Mario Gallegos prior to the November elections.  Garcia garnered 52.89% of the votes, and won over sitting State Representative Carol Alvarado, who will retain her House seat.

today that the Board of Directors has elected Ed A. Lopez, Executive Vice
President, Chief Lending Officer/Loans and Special Assets, Advisory Director,
and Executive Committee Member.  Mr.
Lopez has served in Texas banks located in: Corpus Christi, Laredo and Seguin,
and previously was employed by the FDIC Division of Liquation.

with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, Lone Star Capital Bank employees
and customers came together to provide holiday gifts to 85 San Antonio area
children and seniors, exceeding their annual goal of 75.
