UCC Filings, or What's In a Name?
 
Question:  If our bank had a secured loan with Kinky Friedman, would we use "Kinky Friedman" in the Debtor field of the UCC-1?

Answer:  No!  Article 9 requires you to use the legal name of the debtor.  See section 9.503 of the Business & Commerce Code.
