Being a community bank director is more challenging than ever.  Whether your bank did well or poorly during the last three years, there are vital issues that each director needs to know.  Many of these issues involve the basic underpinnings of director obligations, while others are director “hot topics.”  Community bank directors must be prepared to understand their obligations regarding each of the “highlights” below.  Fundamental knowledge is critical if you want to be an effective board member, as is knowledge of current hot topics.
