What happened to the new and revised SAR that was to go into mandatory compliance by December 31, 2007? The one dated July 2003 is still posted on FinCEN's website for us to use. Thanks,
In April of 2007, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) filed a Federal Register notice announcing the delayed implementation of certain revised Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) forms that were scheduled to become effective on June 30, 2007. The agency withdrew this effective date for the revised SAR forms for depository institutions, casinos and card clubs, insurance companies, and the securities and futures industries. FinCEN will establish new effective and mandatory compliance dates for these revised forms in a future notice. The delay does not impact ongoing suspicious activity reporting, which will continue using the current forms. Click here to read the FinCEN press release.
