Taking Your Bank From Good To Great

What It Takes To Be A Great Community Banker
IBAT CEO Chris Williston will be presenting a new program during this year’s Leadership Conference titled “Taking Your Bank from Good to Great.” The discussion will focus on what it takes to be a great community bank in today’s rapidly changing financial services marketplace. The presentation will be on Friday morning, June 19, at 9:30am during the General Session, right after the Legislative Panel.
These are observations of the common characteristics of the “high performers” that Chris has collected during his 32 years in the industry as a consultant and trade association executive. The presentation has been specially written for community bankers , and is built around a structure similar to that outlined in Jim Collins’ blockbuster bestseller, “Good to Great.”
Chris Williston has served the Independent Bankers Association of Texas as its President & CEO since 1989. Before that he administered the Sheshunoff High Performance Affiliation Program, a resource / idea sharing network consisting of over 800 chief executive officers from 48 states.
He has co-authored numerous handbooks and publications about the Texas banking industry and currently authors an online blog, The Missing Linc, and a monthly column entitled, “Up Front” for The Independent Banker magazine.
