IBAT CONVENTION
We’ve just wrapped up our 31st Annual Convention, and it was a huge success!  Once again, we’d like to thank all of you for bearing with us as we postponed due to the hurricane, and then rescheduled into a tighter timeframe.

The Gaylord Texan was a fabulous venue, and the resort’s staff pretty much bent over backwards to help us reschedule and then make it an outstanding event.

A big thank you to everyone who was able to attend…it was a lot of walking, but we hope you benefited from the many educational and networking opportunities.

The IBAT Leadership Division deserves a big pat on the back…the auction, golf tournament and other convention activities netted over $115,000 for the IBAT Political Action Committee.  And FYI…this year’s Dream Vacation winner was Chad Golden with TIB – The Independent BankersBank.  Ray David, Jr. with Point Bank in Denton was the lucky winner of the 1.6 carat diamond.

Finally, we’d like to thank all of our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors. Not only do they help us keep the costs economical, but they were unwavering in their support the last couple of months.

We’ve already started working on next year’s convention to be held October 1-3, 2006, at the Westin La Cantera in San Antonio.  For all of our Associate and Affiliate Members and Endorsed Service Providers, here are some tentative dates to note:

1/31 Call for Presentations will be mailed to solicit speakers for next year's convention
3/15 Deadline for potential speakers to submit CFP responses
3/30 Committee will select speakers
4/30 Sponsor/Exhibitor packets will be mailed

IBAT WINTER SUMMIT
All words and phrases in blue in this newsletter are links to more information!  The sixth annual IBAT Winter Summit is set for January 29-31 in South Lake Tahoe.  This summit is a tremendous opportunity to get to know your regulators in an informal and relaxed setting.  We will be joined by the top regulators in the state, including Stan Ivie (FDIC), Randy Fenimore (OCC), Bob Hankins (Federal Reserve Bank) and Randall James (Texas Department of Banking).  Additionally, we have "dialogue with the banking lawyers", Chet Fenimore (Jenkens & Gilchrist) and Sandy Brown (Bracewell & Giuliani), to discuss current issues including mergers and acquisitions, emerging legislative issues, taxes and other "hot issues."
