 As mentioned in our January 3 Special Compliance Bulletin, the Ethics Commission has adopted a revised CIQ form for vendors to use in reporting business relationships with local government officials. Unfortunately, there are no instructions with this form. Also, the Commission has no authority to interpret the law! Stay tuned as IBAT's government relations team works on this thorny issue.

In February, IBAT will hold Texas Deposit Documentation seminars in Lubbock, Corpus Christi, Irving, San Antonio, Tyler and Houston. Bank personnel who have responsibility for administering customer accounts should make plans to attend. This is a fast paced introduction for the new employee who needs an overview of deposit accounts and is designed to “tie everything together” for experienced personnel.
