		Make IBAT a Part of Your Hurricane Preparation With the start of the hurricane season, IBAT has taken steps to provide emergency communications for community bankers should a need for disaster recovery arise.      IBAT has created an 800 number hotline to serve as a conduit between the bank and its employees in the event of an emergency.  The system, to be operated from the association’s headquarters in Austin, is meant to serve as a “backup” communications plan in case the bank cannot perform its own disaster recovery plan. 		IBAT has filed a comment letter asking the Farm Credit Administration to drop its proposed rules relating to the 10 percent limit on dividends and raising the requirements on outside appraisals for "real property business loans."

		Next Tuesday, June 6, is the deadline for submitting your nominations for the 2006 Making A Difference Award.  If you have not already submitted a nomination, what a meaningful way to honor that special person in your bank who contributes above and beyond.
