IBAT Approved by TEA As Financial Education Resource
IBAT members may be receiving phone calls from their local school districts on ways to provide financial education tools for their high school economics/social studies classes.
As you may recall, the Texas Legislature mandated financial training at the high school level - the question was when would it go into effect. Well, it came sooner than later. The TEA has mandated that this Fall semester, all high schools provide financial education training covering 12 important areas.
As schools call you, refer them to our IBAT Education Foundation Website which has a solution to provide for each of the 12 areas.

USDA Attempting to Raise Guaranty Fees
After being soundly defeated in the Appropriations process, the USDA immediately issued rules to increase the commitment and servicing fees on guaranteed loans. We really don't think that is a good idea, and sent a comment letter last week to express our displeasure. The FCS is continuing to evolve and is competing directly with our community banks. This is not the time to make things even more expensive for ag borrowers opting to do business with their local bank. |

| PAC AUCTION |
|

|
|
Bidda Bidda Bidda! What’s your Bid?
One of our goals for this year’s PAC Auction is: unique \yû-`nçk\ adj being the only one; being without a like or equal; unusual
Think about the last auction you attended. What was that one special item that stood out in your mind or was popular with the bidders? Perhaps it is something unique to your area of the state. Perhaps it is a unique handcrafted item made by one of your customers or local artisans. Maybe you’re looking for that “once-in-a-lifetime” unique experience for your child.
We want to promote this year’s auction on the IBAT website as well as create a special color catalog of the auction items. Showcasing the items prior to convention will allow some of our members who are unable to attend the convention the opportunity to ask someone to bid on an item for them. It will also allow our online bidders to view your unique items, while building excitement for the convention.
Of course, our golf outings, weekend getaways, paintings and hunting and fishing trips are always popular, as well as jewelry and artwork. Whatever your preference, click here for the PAC Auction Form. If possible, please e-mail a digital photo of your item or send your auction item to Mae Beth at IBAT and we’ll take care of transporting it to San Antonio. |
