IBAT Legislative Committee Meets
This week, over 20 members of the IBAT Legislative Committee met in Austin to determine IBAT's offensive legislative agenda in the 80th Legislature.
Among IBAT's priorities will be to pass a statewide ILC (Wal-Mart) branch limitation bill, make improvements to the Home Equity statutes and reduce the regulatory and reporting burden for financial institutions seeking state and municipal deposit relationships.
Should you have any specific legislation you would like for IBAT to consider, please feel free to contact us.
Also, we ask your help in calling your Congressman this week and asking that they co-sponsor HR 5746, a bill to close the industrial loan corporation (ILC) loophole. This bill is critically important for Main Street America as it will maintain the historic separation between banking and commerce and give regulators the tools they need to safeguard our nation's financial system.

| PAC AUCTION |
|

|
|
Bidda Bidda Bidda! What’s your Bid?
One of our goals for this year’s PAC Auction is: unique \yû-`nçk\ adj being the only one; being without a like or equal; unusual
Think about the last auction you attended. What was that one special item that stood out in your mind or was popular with the bidders? Perhaps it is something unique to your area of the state. Perhaps it is a unique handcrafted item made by one of your customers or local artisans. Maybe you’re looking for that “once-in-a-lifetime” unique experience for your child.
We want to promote this year’s auction on the IBAT website as well as create a special color catalog of the auction items. Showcasing the items prior to convention will allow some of our members who are unable to attend the convention the opportunity to ask someone to bid on an item for them. It will also allow our online bidders to view your unique items, while building excitement for the convention.
Of course, our golf outings, weekend getaways, paintings and hunting and fishing trips are always popular, as well as jewelry and artwork. Whatever your preference, click here for the PAC Auction Form. If possible, please e-mail a digital photo of your item or send your auction item to Mae Beth at IBAT and we’ll take care of transporting it to San Antonio. |

Take the time to explain how and why you make your purchasing decisions. Show children smart purchasing tips such as sticking to a list of needed items, or purchasing birthday gifts in bulk.
