Legislature Back in Town
After some fits and starts, the 80th Texas Legislature will be getting down to business over the next couple of weeks. IBAT has a full plate of proactive work planned, and will no doubt be facing the usual "defensive" issues as well in the coming months. Our Legislative Issues recap is on the website, and we encourage you to be familiar with these issues to be able to communicate with your elected officials. We will be working on introduction of our proactive agenda over the next few days, as committee assignments will be finalized on the House side. We will begin regular updates as soon as the activity justifies such correspondence. Your involvement in this process is critical, and there are a number of "bottom line" issues we will be addressing this session. Please watch for additional information! |

IBAT/TBA Bankers Legislative Day is set for Wednesday, February 28. After a continental breakfast and briefing where we'll hear from some of our elected officials whose work directly affects your bank, we'll adjourn in time for you to go by your legislator's office and escort him/her to he luncheon which begins at 11:30 AM. This year, the luncheon will be held at the First United Methodist Church, just one block east of the Capitol. It will be in easy walking distance for you and provide easy access for our legislators.
