Governor Perry Signs Tax Bill
We are very pleased to report that on Saturday, Governor Rick Perry signed HB 3928, the revised franchise tax technical corrections bill.  This event brings some closure to a long and arduous process that began over a year ago in the final special session of the 79th Legislature.  You will recall that this bill includes the important provision reinstating "gross vs. net" apportionment treatment for sales of certain securities and loans.  Thanks to all of you who answered the calls to action to get this important legislation through the process.  You made a difference!

IBAT's 2007 Legislative Wrap-up
If you missed our FREE webinar on June 12, you can still hear Karen Neeley and Steve Scurlock provide a fast-paced, lively discussion of what passed, what didn’t and how your bank will be impacted.  The program covers the changes to the tax bill, home equity lending, privacy and identity theft issues, commerce and banking limitations, mortgage fraud, tax lien lender activities, numerous operational and lending initiatives and provides some “inside baseball” observations on one of the more unique sessions in some time.
