More Tax-Free Competition?
The Farm Credit System continues to push forward with plans to dramatically increase their ability to compete with you - not only those of you in rural areas, but everywhere in Texas. The House Agriculture Committee will meet the week of July 16 for a "mark-up" on the Farm Bill, which in its present form includes some of these unsavory provisions. Our letter to the Texas members of the Ag Committee is on our Web site, and we have copied all of our Congressional delegation to let them know of our opposition to these proposals.
ICBA has put together some excellent talking points and background information on this issue at http://icba.org/. We strongly recommend that you take a moment to let your Congressman know that this unwarranted expansion by yet another tax-advantaged competitor is simply not acceptable. |
