Community Bankers Score Major Victory
As indicated in the communique sent last week, the U.S. House of Representatives adopted the Frank/Bachus amendment to the Farm Bill, thus inflicting significant damage to the Farm Credit System's (FCS) quest to ramp up their ability to compete directly with you. You might find this letter and statement from Mike Reyna, a former Chairman of the FCS as interesting and insightful as we did.
It is obvious that a number of bankers contacted their respective Congressmen on this issue. Once again, you have made a difference!
Please note that the FCS has already announced their intent to press on in the Senate. We shall keep you apprised as this ongoing saga unfolds. |
