Teaching Excellence in Financial Literacy Award

Teaching ExcellenceWe need your help by nominating an outstanding teacher in your local community who has tackled the important topic of financial literacy in the classroom this past year. The teacher could be from High School, Middle, or Elementary levels. It could be from departments of business education, economics, social studies, math or other section. To be considered, a community banker must nominate a teacher. There is a cash reward of $1,000 for the winners. Filing Deadline: Nov. 15, 2011, Announcement Deadline: Dec. 16, 2011. This award is presented annually by the Leadership Division Board of Directors during the Leadership Conference.

Nominations for this award are made the Leadership Division’s Communications Committee and are open to any Leadership Division member, except for the Division’s Executive Committee.
 
In addition to a personal commitment to the Division, the following criteria shall be considered:

  • Outstanding leadership and recognition within their community – role model
  • Achievements and accomplishments, which have touched a broad area of service to the Division 
  • Recruitment of new members
  • Dependability – Not only commits but also follows through
  • Creates excitement about PAC
  • Selflessly donates their time to promote, support and serve independent bankers in the state of Texas—ambassador of goodwill
