TechMecca Features Nationally Acclaimed Speakers

Richard Bowen

Richard M. Bowen, former Business Chief Underwriter for Citigroup, monitored its credit quality over a business unit that involved the purchase and sale of $90 billion annually of residential mortgage loans. Beginning in 2006, he repeatedly warned Citigroup management about risky business practices and potential losses related to mortgage lending.

Mr. Bowen not only warned the board of directors, but also requested an outside investigation of his business unit. Eventually he testified before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission about his Citigroup business chief underwriting experiences.

Today, Richard is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Texas at Dallas and a sought after speaker on the issues with business ethics, and the financial crisis.

In September 2013, Mr. Bowen was featured in a New York Times article entitled "Was This Whistle-Blower Muzzled?"  Click here for more information about Richard Bowen.
