Seven Named to Three-Year Terms on IBAT Board of Directors
October 3, 2006 - Seven new members were elected to the board of directors of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) during the organization’s 32nd annual convention in San Antonio.
The new inductees include James T. Chambers of Town and Country Bank in Stephenville, Jay M. Gober of First State Bank in Graham, Michaux Nash Jr. of Dallas National Bank and Jeff A. Nunn of Citizens Bank in Claude.
Also sworn in were Ron Reed of Lamar Bank in Beaumont, Willard Still of American Bank in Waco and Jess Laird of First State Bank in Athens.
“These new board members have earned the support of their peers to lead our organization during one of the most exciting times in our 32 year history,” President/CEO Chris Williston said after the election.
IBAT is the largest state community banking organization in the nation, representing more than 2,000 Texas community banks and branches. Among its continuing goals is ensuring the development and continuation of Texas’ rich history for future generations. In recognition of this, the Texas Historical Commission awarded the prestigious Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation to IBAT during ceremonies led by Governor Rick Perry at the Governor’s Mansion in July of this year.
