Craig Overstreet Honored With IBAT Excellence in Leadership Award
The Leadership Division of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) has honored Farmersville bank president Craig Overstreet with its coveted Excellence in Leadership Award.
The announcement was made during the final day of the 500-plus member group’s annual meeting at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop (June 16).
Overstreet, a former president of the IBAT Leadership Division and currently a member of the IBAT Board of Directors, is the President and chief executive officer of First Bank in Farmersville.
“It is only fitting that Craig receive this valued honor,” IBAT President Chris Williston said upon hearing of the decision to recognize Overstreet in only the fourth year of the award. “He has proven to be a true leader in his community, in this organization and in state affairs.”
Overstreet has twice been chosen “Boss of the Year” in Farmersville, most recently in 2008. He was selected Citizen of the Year in 1998. He has been elected chairman of the Farmersville Planning and Zoning Commission and previously was chairman of the Farmersville Economic Development Committee.
Overstreet was born in Fort Worth. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife Allison have three children: Collin, Leslie and Lindsey.
