February FDIC's Issue

Banks are failing to address cybersecurity threats stemming from third-party technology providers, according to a February report issued by the FDIC’s Office of Inspector General. The report was based on a review of banks’ contracts with providers. The FDIC maintains that banks “typically did not clearly address [provider] responsibilities and lacked specific contract provisions to protect [bank] interests or preserve [bank] rights.”
