We have seen an increased interest from associate members in submitting "hot topic" articles that would engage IBAT bank members. Based on discussions at the Winter Summit in January, these are the 2018 hot topics:
- Credit quality and CECL
- Third party and vendor risk management
- Corporate governance and ethics
- Fair Lending – Redlining and “Reasonably Expected Market Area”
- Community Reinvestment Act
- FinCEN’s Beneficial Ownership Rule – May 2018
- Mortgage Lending and TRID
Submitted articles will be maintained in our database of proposals. We invite you to submit prospective topics. Log in and click on the "Call for Presentations" tab. If you wish to submit a topic, click on the plus sign “+” on the far right. Complete the form, then “save and close.” Repeat if desired. The results go to the IBAT education staff and communications team for review and ongoing consideration as we assess the education needs of IBAT members.
They may be used for any of the following:
Proposals to be considered for our annual convention, regional meetings of IBAT’s Leadership Division, and other events.
If your company has developed a white paper, conducted a survey or generated other resources that you think would be of interest to the Texas community banking industry, we invite you to submit those resources to be featured in IBAT’s digital publications and the association's website.
Finally, we invite proposals for articles to be included in upcoming issues of The Texas Independent Banker magazine. We welcome articles that are informative for our members (rather than promoting a product or service); these can be up to 600 words for a one-page article, and up to 1,200 words for longer features.
